Welcome to Stained Glass Counseling
Hello! I’m so excited that you have began the journey of seeking counseling. Allow me to introduce myself. Like many of you, I am a sister, a daughter, a wife, a mother , and a friend. I’m also a licensed professional counselor in the state of Tennessee. I have been gifted with the ability to journey with people as they are writing their life story. I have seen first hand how life changing good counseling can be for children and families and I LOVE what I do!
I have been working with children and families since 2015. Like most good counselors, I became a counselor after going to counseling myself as a young teenager. Often we can feel like our lives have been shattered, it was during one of those times in my own life that the Holy Spirit whispered to my heart, “shattered glass can be turned into beautiful stained glass.” It was from that moment on that Stained Glass Counseling was birthed inside of me.
In my pursuit to help others as I had been helped, I went to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for my undergraduate in psychology. Then Richmont Graduate University for my masters in counseling. Upon graduation I began working in community mental health, specifically with the foster care population. Then I spent six wonderful years working in a large group private practice, which has now led me to establishing my own practice Stained Glass Counseling, PLLC.
I specialize in working with children, teenagers, and families. I am a certified parent child interaction therapist, am trained in somatic and attachment focused EMDR, TF-CBT, and CBT. I use elements of play therapy and am comfortable to integrate your faith in counseling. I believe that some of the most effective counseling is done during childhood and adolescent, which allows individuals to go on to have healthy productive lives and make true generational progress.
